Maina is a family-run cafe in Havelock North, Hawke's Bay. Named after the matriarch of the family, Maina's philosophy is one of genuine hospitality, warmth and kindness - the things Maina (the woman) was famous for. The design for the cafe pays homage to Maina's spirit and the family's rich Maori heritage, drawing inspiration from Tukutuku panelling for the visual identity. This is referenced not only by the aesthetic of the suite of logos or 'maina marks', but also by the hand-crafted approach to the signage, textiles, and decor of the cafe.
