Hastings Distillers is a boutique distillery located (unsurprisingly) in Hastings, New Zealand. Purchasing an existing building in the middle of town, the task was to turn it into a beautiful space where guests could learn about and extensively sample the spirits on offer: a cellar door, but one which would encourage patrons to linger a little longer. Drawing inspiration from the clients' European roots and commitment to a slower, honest way of being, I designed a space which feels like a refuge from the world outside, a space where you might be persuaded to try everything on the menu.
